In this compilation of over 100 terms, you, dear reader, will learn about the then and the now of everything from spectacles to birdcages to parasols. So step back in time and then jolt back to the present because Victorian fashions and culture have a surprisingly long timeline.

What better way to celebrate Halloween this year than to go back to Wonderland, suitable? For Halloween costumes, I think this theme is the most fun. In March 2010, Disney will be releasing Alice In Wonderland-again with the wonderfully talented master of creepy, director Tim Burton. I don’t want to give away too much of the story, but it goes like this: Alice Kingsley is an all grown up nineteen, when she has to serve this snobbish party. After being troubled away from it, she runs back to the hole where she was several years before.

Choosing where to eat at a place with so many different options can be seem like a daunting decision to make. With as many as six different restaurants open at the same times, it could seem an impossible choice. To serve you decide where to eat, you should decide what you are looking for out of your meal.

The Grand Floridian offers one character meal, which is open for breakfast and dinner. Both buffet style meals are different, and different characters are indicate at both, should you (or your family!) wish to go see both. Display at the character breakfast are Alice and the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland, and Mary Poppins. Many different foods are included such as breads and pastries, a cold buffet with cereals, yogurts, fresh fruit, chilled soups, and more. The hot buffet includes many of the specialty breakfast foods that Disney is known for – including Mickey Mouse waffles, buffet stations where you can have custom meals prepared for you, and much more. The 82nd Annual Academy Awards got underway with a flamboyant performance by Neil Patrick Harris. He was followed by Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin taking cheap shots and most of the nominees for the night. Their attempts at humor continued throughout the evening, with the highlight being a spoof on “Paranormal Activity.” The festivities seemed less entertaining than usual, despite grandiose sets and fancy dresses. For some reason, emphasis was placed on everyone trying to be funny, and most of them failed miserably.

Nevertheless, the stars were out in abundance to present awards to their fellow Hollywood actors, directors, and technical staff. Hardly any award recipient is a true surprise, as most of these were already awarded either a Golden Globe or a SAG for their achievements. The exception to this rule, however, was the first female to every win the Oscar for Best Director. Much to the dread of her ex-husband, James Cameron, director of “Avatar,” the Oscar went to Kathryn Bigelow, who dedicated her awards to the men and women serving overseas. According to the ‘The Sun’, Megan Fox is all set to play one foxy feline femme fatale as Catwoman in Christopher Nolan’s next film in the new Batman franchise. Sexy starlets in Nolan’s past Batman movies include Katie Holmes and Maggie Gyllenhaal, neither of which donned any kind of costume. So for fanboys who are pouting over not getting to study Megan Fox nude in ‘Jennifer’s Body’, at least you might get to finally see a sexy female supervillain with Catwoman in the next Batman installation.

Other actresses to don Catwoman’s sexy suit include Halle Berry and Michelle Pfeiffer in the movies. We give both of these women a lot of credit for making Catwoman sexy, but Batman fans often fail to remember the beautiful women of the 60′s TV series who also donned the skintight catsuit, Eartha Kitt (also illustrious for singing the sexy Christmas Classic ‘Santa Baby’) and Julie Newmar, the original Catwoman. Like Megan Fox, Julie Newmar first made a name for herself based solely on her looks, with a bit part in 1953 film ‘Serpent of the Nile’ where she was nude except for a lot of gold paint.
